The low-down on POS display stands

Point of sale displays, or POS, are highly effective in driving more custom and increasing your products. But what exactly are these, and why are they so important? POS display stands

POS displays are those that you find right next to the checkout – or fairly nearby. They will draw the consumer’s attention to a particular product, perhaps one that has just been introduced to the store, or that is particularly seasonal – such as Easter eggs or Halloween candy.

They can also be used to promote special deals, such as BOGOFs (buy one, get one free) or two for the price of one promotions. As they are situated right next to the checkout, consumers are more likely to impulse buy from these stands; especially when their kids moan and moan about wanting the product, and all mum or dad wants to do is get through the till and get out!

They’re also great for displaying reduced items, as many consumers love to spot a bargain and even if they don’t have a need for the product, they can feel inclined to buy just because it’s cheap or reduced.

These enticing shop displays provide ample sales opportunity for this reason, and are crucial in captivating an audience; making it vital that retailers take notice and make the most of their POS stands. In order to do this, they should really take the time to think about what product would work best. Looking at the main demographic that visits your store will help, as will thinking about the times of the day that consumers are most likely to buy extra products.

Also, once your stand has been set up, think about the cross-selling opportunities. Ask checkout assistants to mention the stand when ringing up the consumer’s items; or perhaps make store announcements via the tannoy, alerting shoppers to the special purchase.
